Cast Spiral Staircases

The Victorian cast filigree spiral stairs are ideal for both internal and external application. The finished effect is that of a piece of furniture. Available in 8 different diameters, 970mm, 1067mm, 1194mm, 1321mm, 1448mm, 1676mm, 1830mm and 2083mm, these staircases are suitable for loft conversions, main stairs, minor changes in floor levels and access to balconies and verandas. Due to the cast aluminium castings, they are 1/3 the weight of cast Iron with the same strength capabilities and are ideal for second floor applications. To compliment the cast Victorian design we have a wide range of balusters as well as an option of timber handrails.

By having the 3 balusters per tread on the Victorian spiral stairs you comply with building regulations. This is a traditional design dating back to the 19th century.

Victorian spiral stairs with Regent Ornate baluster.

This Victorian spiral staircase has the Regent Ornate baluster to comply with building regulations. This baluster can only be fitted on the 1830 and 2083mm diameter due to its size. The spiral stairs lead to a large balcony with filgree plate to match the design. The balcony is supported by decorative gallows brackets and a support column at the end.

This Victorian spiral staircase has the Victorian baluster on most treads and Floral balusters on every third tread. This project was for a private client in Cornwall who linked 3 areas by using 2 separate spirals, a balcony and landing balustrade all to match creating a wonderful visual effect.

Victorian cast spiral stairs with 1 baluster per tread.

The Victorian spiral stairs with 1 baluster per tread in the basic design. This 1194mm diameter was cleverly used to gain access to a loft room by using the small space on the landing and still allowing access to the bedrooms on the lower floor. This would not be acceptable for building regulations as the gap btween the balusters are greater than 100mm but this could be solved by fitting additional balusters.

This external Victorian spiral stairs and balcony has wrought iron balusters fitted to match the existing balustrade on the flat roofed area. The balusters are a mixture of plain, twisted and caged balusters.
