Cottage Craft spirals was established in 1980 and over the years has earned a deserved reputation for producing spirals, helical, straight and combi stairs in Cast Aluminium and Timber to the highest quality. Located in the beautiful Peak National Park in Derbyshire we have created a range of stairs which will complement perfectly any type of building or environment. As we own our foundry, Milton Aluminium Castings, and have a full pattern making facility, we have total control over the quality of the castings. Tilleys London Castings was opened in Highgate, London to provide a local and personal service to the South East area, It has a small showroom, and offers a wide range of other products such as railings, gates and security grills as well as a wide range of Cast Iron castings.

All our stairs are hand built to your specification, erected in the workshop, and will therefore fit perfectly. (Most of the other products on the market are mass produced kits, sold by unskilled agents, which have to be “fudge” to make fit and often do not comply with UK building regulations.)

As all the skill is in the production of spiral stairs especially in the handrail, please do not assume that all suppliers form the handrail to the stairs and landing as we do.

Complete flexibility in design, we try to build want you want

Eco friendly driven production. All the Aluminium we use in the production of the Cast Victorian and Parisienne staircase ranges is recycled aluminium which is then refined to British Standards specifications. Milver Metals are the UK’s largest produced of Aluminium ingot and we only use their product.

With regards to the timber stairs we use sustainable timbers which are kiln dried. As we can not use recycled timber we, as a family, undertake to plant 5 trees for every timber stair we build. To date we have planted nearly 1400 native species at our workshop and home and have just fenced of another area which will allow the planting of another 1000 over the next few years.

Exports now account for a substantial part of our sales each year and we are happy to arrange the delivery of a staircase to any country in the world.
